TRAVEL DAY
Today we traveled to Nekemet. Thank you for all your prayers and positive thoughts!
Today was our first clinic day! We had the opportunity to give eye glasses to children at a deaf school. After getting the first day kinks out of the way, everything went smoothly. The people that hosted us were very kind and served us coffee and lunch. We love trying their food and learning about there culture, but most of all we love seeing the children smile after receiving their new glasses.
God is good! Both yesterday and today we made all our flights! The flight to Germany was super long but movies and lots of snacks helped us get through it. After navigating from one side of the airport to the other, we finally arrived at our gate. At the gate we all crammed onto a small bus. Outside the airport it looked like a parking lot for planes! When our bus pulled up to our plane we flooded out and then had to climb the stairs to enter our plane. The 6 hour plane ride to Addis Ababa went by quick as I slept the whole way, but our sleeping schedules are definitely messed up! Even though we are arriving a day late, we are so excited to meet our other team members and spread God’s love.
God made some new plans! We will not make our flights tonight to Germany, so we will be trying again tomorrow. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue this crazy journey.

Hello everyone! My name is Josie Oxford and I have the privilege to blog for the Team 1922 mission trip. I live in a small town in Nebraska on a beautiful lake with my family. I just recently graduated high school, and I am currently working as a nurse aide at the local nursing home. I’m beyond excited to serve God and others as my team heads to Ethiopia. I will try my best to share our journey for all our family and friends.
In two days, Team 1922 embarks on a mission to share God’s love and administer eye care. As 2 Corinthians 5:21 reminds us, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” I am told God has assignments for us, and through God, we are equipped to be someone’s miracle. Whether it is a kind word, serving your church, or giving your time, know that we are God’s ambassadors. So let’s work together to carry out God’s work and miracles!
